A physiotherapy came and help me to get down from my bed. Its the first time since surgery that I can move my leg a bit and try to get down.
I am like a newborn baby that taught how to move and walk. The first move was pain , dizzy and I feel breathless. They ask me to deep breath slowly in and out... It did help...I slowly move my leg a bit, my body ....and finally I can sit down...
They teach me know to breath and cough... Yes, I must cough because after surgery there was a phlegm in my lung and I need to cough it out. Cough in this time really kill me... I feel very pain when I cough...
I manage to cough a little and walk down to toilet. ... I was very happy that I can walk again... When I saw myself at the mirror, I really frightened. I said... is it me? I can not recognized the person inside the mirror. The face was filled with pain, worry, tired and helpless.
I said to myself, I must be strong, It was over... I will be healthy....
That afternoon, I request to be discharged. Doctor agree after he examine that I am getting well.
I was delighted ... Finally after a long battle with demon... I win...........

New hope
I just can't sleep at night. I don't know its the effect from the medicine or I just too scared to sleep. During the pain period, I really scared to sleep . I worry that I can't wake up again....
I am very lucky that it was over... I still can see the world. I just realized that I got a lot of friends that give their blessing to me everyday. They support me through this time. I really appreciate it.
My family play an important role in my recovery process. They put a lot of effort to make me feel better, take care of me without complain. I really feel bad that I neglect them all this time.Always busy with my work.
Finally, the anesthetist suggest that I should try to stop the epidural and see if I can't stand for the pain.
The pain was really intolerable as I nearly passed out. So they put again the epidural.
The second day, I want to try again. Once the epidural stopped, I pray and hope that the pain was less. I keep on thinking that I must get well soon, there is stil a lot of work waiting for me ... My family need me...
I manage to go through the surgery pain without epidural, its a good start for recovery.....

After Surgery
The after surgery pain was different. The next 4 days at hospital was probably the longest day in my life.
I experience the nausea that caused from painkiller, vomit when I try to eat....
Headache and breathless almost happen every one hour. I just lay at the bed without moving, because can not move at all, the wound was 7 1/2 inch long vertically at my stomach.
But at that time, I still can't feel the surgery pain because the epidural is still on..I felt helpless as can't talk (because of colonoscopy that have't removed from my nose that pass through the mouth to bladder), can't move and everything need help. They even put a tube at my urine tract so I can just pass urine through it without get down from bed.
I need nurse to change my cloth everyday, brush my teeth . Need my daughter to feed me...
Everyone was worried for me.

Surgery
A colonoscopy didn't help me much as I still can not pass the wind. The pain was still there, but less gradually. Its a fake sign that make me think I was better. The truth was it became worse, it was shown at the second time x ray report. All the colon had been swollen and it stop to move around.
A surgery need to be performed. The doctor call my husband immediately to sign the surgery form. I did worry because the doctor said that operation will take times around 2 1/2 hours and it was different with C-section or appendix that I undergone before.
At around 2.30 , I was changed and move to operation theatre.I wait there for about 15 minutes, and then the anesthetist came. He asked me whether I know well about this surgery and explained a bit.
The anesthetist put an epidural at my back bone to numb the abdomen area before the doctor can perform the surgery. It was pain and cold feeling at my back bone.
Doctor came in at around 3.00 and an anesthetic make me sleep and only realize that the surgery was done after I was moved to surgical ward.
I am relieve that it was over, but what I didn't know was ....the nightmare just started....

Finally.....
Finally, the morning came, I count down to the time that can see the doctor. He came at around 10.45 am and after a careful diagnose, he suggest to do abdomen x-ray.
X-ray report shown that there is a lot of wind inside my stomach that can't pass through because of the twisted colon. To see more detail, I was advised to do city-scan.
The problem confirmed, it is twisted colon (known as colonic volvulus
is a condition in which blood flow is restricted, causing chronic gas and fluid accumulation when certain portions of the large intestine becoming twisted. A twisted colon can cause bowel movement obstruction, causing the tissue in the affected area to die off. Other twisted colon symptoms include chronic abdominalpain
, nausea, vomiting, and in more severe cases, chronic dehydration.)
The doctor suggest me to undergo a colonoscopy, a procedure that uses a tube to enter either the nose of the stomach or the anus, in efforts to relieve abdominal distention and chronic vomiting.

A new life
Today is the re-birth of me. It is a memorable birthday for me.
This is the first time that I spend my birthday at hospital.
Its really a near-death- experience for me. I remember that it was 12 midnight, I suddenly feel a strong gastric pain. Because I had a gastric before, so I just take a gastric medicine and try to sleep. But the pain is so sharp and tense. I can't stand of the pain and wake up my husband to take me to hospital.
At hospital, the Medical Officer attend to me at the emergency department and gave me gaviscon and pain killer injection to reduce pain. After 15 minutes , I did feel better and go back. But the pain came again when I reached home and this time I felt that its not like gastric.
My husband rushed me to hospital again after I can't stand up and nearly breathless. I immediately admitted and the nurse gave me a gastric medicine again that hope can reduce the pain.
This time, I really feel the strong abdomen pain that twisted and it come every 1 minute. The pain in intolerable, I nearly passed out and keep on call my husband to ask for pain killer. But the nurse said that the painkiller was overdosed already.
The only way is to wait for the doctor in the morning . But the time went too slowly, the clock seems like no moving at all. I just feel that I nearly dying out, the pain keep on coming. My stomach feel like burst out. My husband sit beside me, give me strength. But at this point, I only feel the pain and can't talk anymore.
